Ivana Jelača, a pianist and artistic director of The Rest is Music NGO, outlined the artistic mission and vision of the association which has developed over the years through projects that emphasize the role of classical music in historical and contemporary artistic expressions and social processes, with a selected musical program in the form of a piano recital.
The program included 4 Impromptus op. 90 by Franz Schubert, Romanza and Intermezzo from the Faschingsschwank aus Wien cycle by Robert Schumann, Sonata quasi una fantasia op.27 no. 2: Adagio sostenuto by Ludwig van Beethoven, Fantasie-impromptus, Op. 66 and Valse op. 64 no. 2 by Frederic Chopin and Hommage à Schubert, Hommage à Edith Piaf by Francis Poulenc.
Each of The Rest is Music performances and projects offers an unusual experience of classical music. This concert evening revealed musical accomplishments which were performed in front of numerous visitors and associates, showing at the same time processes of development that are always open to new challenges and artistic questioning.
The program was realized as part of the Dubrovnik Winter Festival, in cooperation with the Dubrovnik Libraries and with the support of the City of Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
