Renaissance Garden in the Villa Bunić Kaboga 2024

RENAISSANCE GARDEN 2024:

Monday Countryside Getaways

November 04 / November 11  at 12 Noon

The Renaissance Garden project is based on heritage interpretation. It revives the magical sceneries and legends of Dubrovnik summer villas and their gardens; the favourite gathering places of Dubrovnik aristocracy, where once a rich cultural and social life was held. The one-hour program, conceived as a salon gathering in the authentic atmosphere of the renovated Villa Bunić-Kaboga from the 16th century, includes live musical performances, multimedia and guidance according to the historical legacy. The need to escape from a noisy and overcrowded city was present in everyday life. Inscriptions on the walls of summer villas are a witness to this: „Whoever believes to lead a content life in the city is mistaken. Let them come here, and this place will bestow real pleasures upon them.“

Immerse yourself in the special ambience where the shadows of the Dubrovnik noble ladies, the forest fairies, lords, shepherds, nymphs and mythical musicians meet through a unique experience of Dubrovnik’s art and culture.

The project is realized and performed by The Rest is Music NGO with the support of the City of Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, and in collaboration with Dubrovnik Heritage PLC.

The author of the project is Ivana Jelača, a pianist and creative leader of The Rest is Music NGO.
